NextLinx to Support Oracle E-Business Suite Information Architecture

Information Architecture Helps Partners Provide Single Source of Truth Across the Organization

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS, ORACLE APPSWORLD, --January 17, 2002 -- Oracle Corp., the world's largest enterprise software company, and NextLinx Corporation, the premier provider of global trade content and software solutions for the world's supply chain community, which was acquired by Management Dynamics in October 2005, today announced NextLinx's support for the Oracle E-Business Suite Information Architecture. Information Architecture provides a single, open, global enterprise data model across all applications and enables companies to achieve a unified and global information management strategy. The foundation of Oracle's Information Architecture is a unified data model, which offers a single definition of customers, suppliers, partners, employees and associated business events. This single data definition leads to more accurate information, as there is one single source of truth within the organization across every functional department.

"With the help of Oracle Development, NextLinx engineered its Web Services for Global Trade to take advantage of Oracle's Information Architecture," said Rajiv Uppal, NextLinx's CEO and President. "Users of Oracle Applications are able to leverage their existing investment in information technology and efficiently achieve globalization by plugging into NextLinx's comprehensive database of global trade business rules and content. "Most companies waste valuable resources attempting to reconcile information across different data sources," Uppal said. "Only Oracle delivers a technological advantage through its unified information architecture where one data definition leads to better information across different applications and the ability to make smarter decisions."

Oracle Information Architecture
Oracle's Information Architecture underlies each module of the Oracle E-Business Suite. It enables companies to achieve a unified and global information management strategy efficiently, quickly and at lower IT costs. An open, standards-based applications foundation, Information Architecture consolidates data across Oracle and non-Oracle applications to improve the quality of information and business intelligence delivered. The key component, the single data model, allows a consistent definition of a customer, supplier, partner or employee across all application modules and the entire enterprise. In addition, the Oracle Information Architecture is global, accessible from any device and easily configurable.

The Oracle E-Business Suite
The Oracle E-Business Suite is the industry's first integrated suite of internet business applications that automates critical business processes across both front and back office operations. In 2001, the Oracle E-Business Suite, which streamlines every area of a business - marketing, sales, service, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, financials and human resources - was implemented by more than 1,110 companies around the world. Now, more than 12,000 customers are currently enjoying the benefits of the Oracle E-Business Suite.

Since its initial introduction, Oracle has delivered six releases of E-Business Suite enhancements, resulting in a mature, function-rich set of applications. Oracle E-Business Suite also offers customers an unprecedented amount of choice and flexibility when implementing business applications; its open architecture and single data model allow applications to be deployed as individual modules, business flows, or as an entire integrated suite. The Oracle E-Business Suite can also be deployed onto customer-owned hardware in a traditional fashion at the customer's site, or deployed as an online service.
